Jamshedpur is home to the sixth largest Iron and Steel company of the world. The modern Industrial city that it is, Jamshedpur has Iron and Steel, Truck Manufacturing, Tinplate production and Cement as the main industries, with scores of ancillary industries. Tata Steel, the largest Iron and Steel producing plant in India, is situated at the centre of the city. The plant covers a quarter of the city's land area.
