Like any other place in the sub continent, Manesar too celebrates the region’s cultural diversity and traditions. Manesar is famous for its proximity to the Millenia city of Gurgaon.
This proximity gives guests to the region the opportunity to witness how the unofficial Mall Capital of India celebrates Diwali, Dasera, Christmas and Eid. During local festivities like Ram Navami and Durga Puja all the restaurants within the malls and myriad of multiplexes become beacons in the night sky.
The Mata Sheetala Devi Temple lights up the dusk hours in the old village of Gurgaon every single day, lined with goodies in quaint little street souvenir shops. The hot springs at Sohna, on the Gurgaon-Alwar highway, and the town of Nuh, home to the tomb of Sheikh Musa are the other venues for a regular feast of festivities. If you want to celebrate and soak in the resplendence of Muslim and Rajput architecture, the Manesar is the place to be.
The name of the city itself is steeped in Hindu mythology. When translated it actually reveals its name as - Land of the lord of the mind. This abode of Lord Shiva has celebrations every day of the year and any success is excuse enough to enjoy the spoil of the land. The current economic boom is witnessing mass participation in may of the local festivities, year round.
