At Ginger hotels, our values give special emphasis on environmental
and ecological issues. We constantly work towards building
a better and sustainable way of living by providing facilities
to our customers without compromising on the environment.
The steps taken by us speak volumes of the measures that
have been taken to create a safer environment for the future.
The steps include:
Energy conservation
Compact fluorescent lights (CFL) are used as these are excellent sources of
energy-efficient lighting that provide as much light as a conventional bulb. It
leads to reduction of carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide and sulphur dioxide (all
of which contribute to global warming) in the atmosphere. |
The key tag energy saver system helps conserve energy in rooms when
the guest is away.
Natural lighting is well utilised. This helps
reduce power consumption dramatically. We have introduced polycarbonate
daylight panels in the atrium that provide good natural daylight while
reflecting away most of the heat.
Auto time management for air-conditioning and
ventilation fans also play a significant role when it comes to conserving
energy. |
Energy-efficient hydro-pneumatic system for water
supply ensures adequate pressure levels and reduces load on pumps.
Double glazed vacuum-sealed windows help
conserve energy by preventing loss of air conditioning and reduces absorption
of external heat. |
Thermal insulation reduces the rate of heat transfer and increases
room comfort while conserving energy. |
Gas-fired water boiler increases the efficiency and
reduces the emission of green-house gases.
Water conservation
| |
Aerators/flow restrictors save water by maintaining the water force and
reducing the outflow. |
Rain water harvesting helps protect and replenish the water table.
Auto flush for public urinals minimise water wastage in the hotel. |
Ground water recharging systems in all our hotels
maintains the ecology of the local geography. |
Waste management |
Sewage treatment helps process waste and treated water is let into
the city drainage systems, thus reducing pollution.
Noise pollution management |
Double glazed vacuum sealed windows block street noise
more efficiently than traditional windows. They help maintain external noise
level below 50 decibels, which in turn reduces noise pollution. |
Noiseless diesel generators are acoustically
insulated. These generators dampen the sound to minimal level.
Forest conservation |
As part of our eco-friendly measures to save trees, we use MDF (medium density
fibreboard) and particle board as raw materials for our interiors. These are
almost entirely made of recycled materials that have a positive impact on
timber resources.
Ginger is aware of its social responsibility and is constantly working towards
fulfilling its commitment towards the environment. Going ahead, we intend to
implement sensors for our lighting systems and use solar energy extensively in
all our hotels.
We are also working towards informing our patrons through various channels of
communications the need to conserve both water and energy.
