The best season to visit Bhubaneshwar is October to March, when the heat and the dust are at their lowest ebb. The city is famous for its Adivasi Mela - held in January and the Khandagiri Mela - held in February / March.
Shivaratri in February and Anla Navami in November are celebrated with great fervour. Two other festivals, Ramnavami and Jhamuyatra, are celebrated in April.
