Goa is the place to visit if you are looking for adventure coupled with relaxation. The exquisite beaches offer you the best of both worlds.
Built on the banks of the Mandovi River, Panjim officially became the capital of Goa in 1843. One can still see the Portuguese influence in the architecture. The old district, Fontainhas, lies to the west of the Ourem River. It is an interesting place to walk around, with narrow streets and an atmosphere reminiscent of the Mediterranean. The Panjim Inn is a beautiful old building worth a visit.
