For theatre and performing arts in the city, an important well known centre is Ravindra Natya Grah. Regular performances by many artists around the world are seen at this centre. Similar centers for theatre and arts are the Deolaikar Kala Vithika, and the Abhivyakti Centre of Fine Arts and Performing Arts. Kala Abhivyakti and Ras Bharati are the various cultural clubs where performers from around the world are invited to perform at the Indore Yeshwant Club and Sayaji Club every year.

Talented artists from across the world are invited as well as sponsored for a variety of cultural activites hosted by the city. People of all castes and religions have been welcomed over the years by this city. Its peaceful culture, educational venues and opportunities for livelihood invite people from all corners of India and the globe to settle in the heart of Madhya Pradesh, Indore.

People in this city are known for their warmth and hospitality and intermix with others, enjoying their life and maintaining harmony. Eid, Bhaubeej, Ramzan, Deepavali, Ganeshotsav, Navratri, Dussehra, Raksha Bandhan, Baisakhi and Holi are many of the national festivals celebrated here, as are the many other festivals like Ahilya Utsav and Nagpanchmi. All festivals are celebrated with equal enthusiasm and great fervor.

The Dainik Bhaskar, Indore, in February 2008 organized the largest tea party which holds a record in the Guinness Book of World Records.

If you see the gates of the Lalbagh Palace, you will realize how close Indore can get in replicas, with this one resembling the gates of the Buckingham Palace in London! It is in England that they were first cast and then shipped to Indore. India’s main Research Centre on Laser and Accelerator Technology under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, is the Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology which was formerly known as CAT.
