Festivals and Events
The city is cosmopolitan and secular, that is, there are many ethnicities and religions co-existing peacefully and in harmony, with all major festivals, like Makar Sankranti, Durga Puja, Deepavali, Holi, Christmas, Id-ul-fitr, and Chhath being celebrated with pomp and gaiety.The city has many important markets and what's more, a number of shopping malls are also coming up in the city. The city also offers a mouth-watering array of eatables at its many eateries.
On Founders Day i.e., March 3, Jubilee Park is decorated with brilliant lighting for about a week.
Most seasonal fairs and exhibitions are held in an open ground called Aambagaan. The Sir Dorabji Tata park hosts Jamshedpur's annual flower show in December. The Keenan stadium has played host to many international cricket matches. An annual festival is organised to worship Pahari Maa at the Gol Pahari Mandir.
