Nestling in the Himalyan footholds, Uttarakhand is home to many of India's most majestic mountains, glaciers and valleys and shares borders with Nepal and Tibet. Pantnagar is situated in the district of Udham Singh Nagar of Uttarakhand. It is famous for the Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, a centre that focuses on agricultural research and  improving agricultural efficiency and technology in India.

Located about 250 km from Delhi and 360 km from Lucknow, Pantnagar is connected by the Delhi Nainital National Highway and the Bareilly Nainital Highway. Pantnagar's Integrated Industrial Estate is home to a large number of industrial units.

With a well-rounded mix of agricultural and industrial activity fuelling the conomy, Pantnagar is also blessed in its scenic location. There are many unspoiled and untouched tourist-worthy nature sites that are accessible, including the Corbett National Park
