Beach city
Famous for its beaches and tree lined avenues, Thiruvananthapuram
is a city of everlasting charm. Its scenic beauty coupled with
a strong historical and cultural identity makes it among the

Thiruvananthapuram is well known for its
long association with art, architecture and literature. This
is in evidence even today in the temple architecture in and
around the city and its ability to produce some of the best
artists and musicians in the country. The city is the birthplace
of many poets and poet kings who have enriched Malayalam (the
language spoken by the majority in the city) literature with
their works.
It developed initially as port and temple
town but has over the years, grown into a major political
and business hub of South India. This beautiful city by the
sea in God's own country also draws tourists from all over
