Thus to cater to this urgency, Ginger Hotel Bhubaneshwar has been operating as a self-quarantine centre in Orrisa since 19th March, 2020. This is one of the earliest branded hotels in East India to take on this mantle. While the staff at Ginger Bhubaneshwar had no prior experience and expertise in handling such operations, they have shown remarkable agility, flexibility, sensitivity and courage in this challenging situation within a very short period of time.
As the hotel now completes about two weeks of operating as a Government-designated isolation facility, the first group of the quarantine guests are nearing completion of their mandatory two-week quarantined stay here. There are several standards, protocols and procedures that the Ginger Bhubaneshwar team has helped establish which are being emulated across the Ginger Hotels and in other hotels as well. These range from how the hotel room needs to be prepared for quarantine guests to training the staff on the safety procedures and coordinating with municipal corporation officials. There are medical support teams and required protocols on handling food, paperwork and other measures are being followed too.
