We at Ginger are very much aware of concerns in our guests' mind around COVID-19 and have ensured that each staff at our hotel follows all the safety and hygiene protocols set by the WHO, CDC and other local health authorities. In times like this, when safety is of paramount importance for our guests and employees, we have been taking the utmost care. For the hotel staff, COVID-19 training is very crucial and we have conducted the same across all our hotels.
Since our team at Ginger has served more than 12,000 guests during the pandemic, they have received a first-hand experience and utilised the WHO COVID-19 training. Each staff at Ginger is well-trained on the safety norms and is following the social distancing norms for safety by queuing at circular indicators marked at the office, uniform room, employee dining and all other common areas. Hence, we at Ginger will be abiding by the promise to provide our valuable guests with services provided by our dedicated staff that are experienced and trained to combat this challenging situation.
Hotel staff PPE is mandated and we have also made regular health check-ups mandatory for our staff handling food to ensure they are medically fit. For the safety of our guests and associates, we conduct non-invasive thermal testing for all associates at the time of their arrival to work. Hence associates with cold, cough or temperature of more than 98.6°F or 37.3°C inform their supervisor and stay at home and are provided with doctor's assistance. They will also use appropriate head cover, apron, masks and shoes for safety against COVID-19. These food handlers will be following the 5-step hand wash method.
It is mandatory for the food handlers to use gloves while handling all raw ingredients and materials especially meat and poultry eggs. Furthermore, for hotel staff safety, each one of them has been undergoing regular temperature check-ups. In order to ensure the safety of the guests and the staff, proper social distancing will be followed at our restaurants as well while they serve food. All our restaurants have hand sanitizing stations set up at the entrance and we also conduct temperature checks when possible.
Upon arrival of the guests, we will guide the guest with directions to their room instead of escorting them to maintain social distance. When it comes to handling the luggage too, our staff members wear masks and gloves at all times. The staff will also avoid touching the vehicles and guests will need to carry their own luggage unless requested. However, in special cases such as children, women and the elderly we will be assisting them.
We will also assist the guests to make reservations for dining at other restaurants located in other hotels in the city. Safe outdoor half-day and full-day customized options will be organized and thorough disinfection of transport services will be done before and after every outing. We have temporarily suspended facilities such as associate gymnasium, recreation rooms, bunkers and crèche to ensure social distancing and safety of the associates.
