With the novel coronavirus spreading globally, this pandemic has raised a concern regarding safety for every traveller. Hence, before guests plan to travel again they will be more thoughtful when they choose their accommodation. We at Ginger have proactively been taking measures to maintain hygiene and safety across all our hotels to provide our guests with safe hospitality.
Thus, our team has been abiding by a few promises and following the standard norms to cater to this dynamic time. One of these promises is to follow safety and hygiene at all times which is the ‘Guaranteed Safety & Sanitization' by Ginger. We have been following the protocols set by the WHO, CDC and other local health authorities as we prioritise the safety of our guests and employees. For safe hotel hygiene and food handling processes, we at Ginger Hotels have tied up with an external agency Equinox where the SGS will carry out the hotel safety audit in our premises.
Cleaning and Sanitisation Protocols:
The COVID-19 situation has brought awareness about the surfaces that are most frequently touched. Hotel rooms sanitization has become important more than ever. We have been using MOHFW Approved disinfectants and cleaners. Every area in the hotel is cleaned using hospital-grade disinfectant and frequently sanitised for the safety of our guests and employees.
Guest temperature checks will be done and recorded, and guests will be requested to fill in a health declaration form before entering the lobby. Security checks will be done only through the Door Frame Metal detector (DFMD). Needless to mention, all our housekeeping members will be wearing protective gear while carrying out the cleaning and disinfection process and undergo health and hygiene checks before entering the premises. They will also be checked for their body temperatures.
The specific areas where we will be highly focused on include:
These are one of the most important focus areas where we have been undertaking the cleaning and sanitisation procedures for your safety. Each amenity in the room like TV, switches, remotes and other objects are thoroughly sanitised. The doors, door handles, bathroom, bedroom and the windows are cleaned by our housekeeping members with utmost care using proper disinfectants recommended by the WHO. Electrical amenities like air conditioning and lights and other amenities like kettles, coffee mugs, shower handles, towel racks and paper holders too are thoroughly cleaned.
Glass surfaces such as vanity mirrors and dressing mirrors are cleaned with proper care and attention. The bathrooms will also be thoroughly cleaned using hospital-grade disinfectants. All the bedsheets and curtains are washed in high temperature after every stay of our guests and all disposable amenities are replaced. Hence all departure rooms will be thoroughly cleaned by carrying out steaming of sofas and curtains, tumble drying all duvets, cushions and pillows. The rooms will be rested for 72 hours before being allocated to the next guest.
Common Areas and Corridors:
Hotel public areas sanitization has been paid special attention and care as well. The common areas like corridors, lobbies, elevators, lockers, uniform rooms, employee dining areas and washrooms have alcohol-based sanitisers and are frequently sanitised for about a minimum of four times a day. Other public areas such as car parking and places with glass furnishings too are thoroughly cleaned. However, valet parking has been temporarily discontinued and all guest cars will be directed to the limited designated parking area by the security team.
The railings, furniture, artworks, granite marble tops, artworks, paintings and all the sofas and chairs are also thoroughly sanitised. Caution signage will be placed in areas that have cleaning process undergoing. All possible areas are well-ventilated and fresh air units will be always kept on. If using the air conditioner, the temperature will be maintained at 24°C (+/- 1°C).
As per the recommendations by the WHO and leading medical practitioners, elevator steel surfaces are cleaned completely using a sodium hypochlorite solution. This includes all the floor doors as well. The buttons too will be sanitised frequently as part of our rigorous cleaning protocols.
We have masks available in our hotels for the guests should any guest request for it and have made it mandatory to conduct guest temperature checks at the entrance. Sanitisers are placed in several areas within the hotel premises including the restaurant entrance. Luggage sanitization of the guests will be done by following disinfection procedures before placing in the booth. To transport the luggage, trolleys are used and then immaculately sanitised after every use. Hotel cars sanitization is done prior to every pick-up and drop. We will be using fog master for spraying and disinfecting the interiors and exterior of the car. Every car will also have bottled water and sealed wet wipes, masks and sanitizers.
